The YMCA Stone Bridge Marathon starts at the Belvidere YMCA and primarily utilizes Russellville Road north to Long Prairie Trail.
The course connects with the trail at Beaverton Road and heads east for approximately 1.5 miles before turning westbound on Long Prairie Trail. About 12 miles of the marathon will be on Long Prairie Trail and lead to a segment of about 3 miles on Stone Bridge Trail.
The segment from downtown Belvidere to Long Prairie Trail is mostly quiet country roads with gently rolling hills and small farms.
The Long Prairie Trail is a converted section of the Kenosha Division Rail Line. The rails to trails route is an asphalt surface and is located in one of the most rural areas of Boone County. The route is mostly flat through open prairie country. Entering Winnebago County, the marathon will utilize the flat Stone Bridge Trail which is a continuation of the rails to trails route and has a compacted limestone surface.
After exiting the trail, the final .3 miles lead to the finish line at Leland Park in Roscoe.
