Marathon Time Conversion

This tool compares marathons and converts times using data for what you would expect on a typical race day. For example, use this tool to see how much faster or slower you would expect to run if the weather was normal for race day and run on the current year's course.

The Marathon Time Conversion tool utilizes an algorithm derived from research on how grade, elevation, and wet bulb temperature and ambient temperature affect marathon running performance. The specific course profile, course elevation, and the typical race time wet bulb temperature and ambient temperature data for each marathon is then used to determine how one would expect to perform at one marathon compared to another under these conditions. For more detailed information, please visit the FAQ.

If you want to compare specific race years and courses or to see how the current weather forecast may affect marathons scheduled this week, use the Year by Year Time Converter.
