Course Description
The fast and scenic Revel Reno Tahoe Marathon takes runners on a stunning downhill journey from the summit of the Mt. Rose Highway to Reno, Nevada.

The marathon course offers a remarkable downhill profile, dropping a total of 4,462 feet. The race begins at a breathtaking elevation of 8,914 feet. The first nine miles feature a smooth, downhill slope that winds its way through the scenic Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, passing by the Mt. Rose and Sky Tavern Ski areas. As you descend, you'll be treated to spectacular views of the Reno Valley.

After a few miles, you'll turn onto the quiet, residential roads of Galena Estates before passing through the private Montreux Golf Club area. The course then continues on Callahan Road before returning to the Mt. Rose Highway.

The final leg of the race takes you through the heart of Reno via a series of city streets, including Thomas Creek Parkway, Zolezzi Lane, Dixon Lane, and Del Monte Lane. The final stretch on Kietzke Lane leads you to the finish line at the Reno Sparks Convention Center.

Note: Due to the significant net elevation drop, runners seeking a Boston Qualifying (BQ) time will incur a 10-minute penalty on their qualifying time, as per Boston Marathon rules for downhill courses.
