Fast and pretty!

Full Review:

This was my 4th marathon and my first downhill marathon and I managed to Boston qualify! The downhill was not nearly as challenging as I expected, although I probably did start too fast. I love the white marathons and loved this marathon!

Race Tips:

The start of the marathon is deceptively easy. The steep downhill in the beginning had me running much faster than I should have and I really struggled with the slight hill in the middle of the course. I would recommend not doing this.

Travel/Logistics Tips:

The race was incredibly well organized! I just followed all the recommendations provided by Revel. This was absolutely the best organized race I've run and the scenery was so beautiful! I hope this becomes a yearly race!

Fabulous race

Full Review:

This was my 5th marathon but first Revel. It was exceptionally well organized, from the bus shuttle to the aid stations to the gear retrieval at the finish. For the inaugural year, we got lucky with temps (40s and cloudy) and a very slight tailwind. Scenery was beautiful the whole way. The start is steep and fast, creating a nice buffer for the uphill at mile 10. After the uphill out and back, there are some slight rolling hills, but it is mostly a gentle decline from there to the finish.

Race Tips:

Train for hills (both up and down) and strengthen those quads!

Travel/Logistics Tips:

The Revel site offered some discounted hotel blocks, but I found a comparable discount using my AAA membership. Stayed at the Yankee Clipper Motel, which is in easy walking distance to the shuttle bus pickup, so I didn't have to deal with all the shuttle traffic congestion at 3:00 a.m.

Wow fantastique !! super beau!!

Mon 6e marathon... finalement couru sous la barre des 3heures youhou !!!! le paysage est magnifique, l'organisation est parfaite , ca roule!!

Our 6th marathon... finally ran under the 3 hour mark wow!!!! the landscape is magnificent, the organization is perfect, it works!!

Race Tips:

Mon entrainement spécifique a vraiment servi. je recommande la chaise au mur pour les quads, et j'ai egalement couru un 13km en descente 5-6X dans le parc de Laurentides ce qui fut très important pour les jambes jusqu'a l'arrivée.

My specific training really helped. I recommend the chair on the wall for the quads, and I also ran a 13km downhill 5-6X in the Laurentides park which was very important for the legs until the finish.

Travel/Logistics Tips:

I also stayed at the Yankee Clipper Inn, a 5 minute walk from the bus @ 4:00 am which takes away stress and gives more time in the early morning. Moreover the day before I made the trip by truck which allows me to appreciate the descents but also the climb mile 9. And 8 degrees less at the summit so my garbage bag was worth 10,000 times the cover aluminum that blows in the wind....
