The Breckenridge Road Marathon, Half-Marathon and 10K will start atop beautiful Boreas Pass, at over 10,434 ft. of elevation, the spectacular views of the changing fall colors will keep you wishing you had your camera! The race will finish in the heart of Breckenridge, greeted with music, great food and the happiest faces this side of the Continental Divide! You won't want to miss this one!

Hills and Elevation

Full Review:

This fall marathon is full of mountain views and scenic scenary; however, the elevation will be a component runners need to consider. The race starts at 10,400 feet, rapidly descends, and continues with hills throughout the rest of the course. While the course is in the mountains, it can be boring. The course descends down Boreas trailhead road and into Breckenridge for about 8 miles, then the rest of the course is through a hilly golf course neighborhood and a backroad, and back.

Race Tips:

Elevation will impact your breathing if you are not use to the lack of oxygen in the mountains. Any symptoms of elevation sickness are possible. Prepare of hills.

Travel/Logistics Tips:

You do have to take a shuttle to the start, but it was an easy process.
