The Bound for Boston (Seattle) Marathon offers a highly structured and focused race environment. This boutique race features a flat elevation profile which consists of a 1-mile loop around Olympia High School in Olympia, Washington. The entire race is conducted on the paved surfaces wrapping immediately around the exterior roads and paths of Olympia High School. Because it relies on repeating this compact 1-mile circuit to complete the full 26.2-mile distance, there are no unpredictable trail variables, major vehicle traffic concerns, or road intersections to navigate.
The defining feature of this course is its centralized support setup. Rather than typical aid stations scattered throughout the race, the event relies on a single aid table that runners pass every single mile. Participants are permitted to bring personalized nutrition, hydration, and custom fuel blends to place on this table. The multi-loop format allows personal cheer crews and coaches to provide constant motivation and support on every lap.
