Real runner feedback on course feel, crowd support, aid stations, and logistics (parking, hotels, restaurants).
This was my first marathon and I found it to be very well organized - from getting all of my materials before the race, to race day. I believe there were about 1,500 total runners, but this included the 5k and half marathon. There were about 350 for the full marathon. There were water and GU stations every 2-3 miles, soldiers stationed throughout encouraging the runners, and was just a great experience overall.
The course is fairly flat. It's a little crowded at the start with the 5k, half and full marathons all starting at the same place, but spreads out quickly.
I arrived an hour before the race and there was plenty of parking. You can wait inside of the Infantry Museum if it's cold outside.
