Real runner feedback on course feel, crowd support, aid stations, and logistics (parking, hotels, restaurants).
I liked everything about this marathon first off it was well organized the people all were super friendly from the police officers to the volunteers everyone in the town was very welcoming!!
Except wind- very windy!! it's Kansas so the wind is going to blow!! The post race food & drinks were great too!!
There is a lot of public parking so if you have to stay in a hotel a little farther away you will have not trouble finding a parking spot.
Friendly support.
Friendly runners.
Affordable for most people.
The expo was small.
Get a good course description because this is not a pancake flat course.
I give them effort for trying to make this race grow with the low registration fees. Double loop, lack of scenery and lack of crowd support for full marathoners really created a struggle. Packet pickup was just that. No expo with other vendors. If you are use to big races, with lots of runners and crowd support then this race is not for you.
Expect to be running solo after the half marathoners finish and don't expect lots of crowd support.
Parking was very easy as this was not a big race.
The course is mainly flat, literally everyone is friendly, community supports it and beautiful weather!!!
The Homewood Suites downtown is beautiful.
Course was well marked with arrows and friendly volunteers! The route was a mixture of blacktop and a section of crushed gravel.
Another plus was that after the race, arrangements had been made with the YMCA so we could take showers before going out to eat and the making the long drive home!!! Excellent communication from the RD and staff.
Plenty of FREE parking close to the race start.
Great organization great swag
Top notch marathon especially for inaugural
event. I can't imagine a better marathon in Kansas super welcoming people in Salina.
Parking and bib pickup seamless
