Real runner feedback on course feel, crowd support, aid stations, and logistics (parking, hotels, restaurants).
Check in was very efficient, phenomenal volunteers, plentiful aid stations, and weather was beautiful. The course conditions were worse than expected - lots and lots of potholes and roads that were in bad shape in many areas. It was also a lot more hilly than expected (my gps said it was 575ft of elevation gain). No tracking for spectators. Not much crowd support. I enjoyed the bike path portion the most - it was nice to see the racers coming back and to see all the wildflowers blooming.
Unless you're on the bike path, prepare for rolling hills and rough roads.
Parking on site was nice. We got there an hour before the start and got one of the last spots. Restroom lines were long. Hampton Inn is walking distance from start line.
Small and inexpensive and relatively flat.
I have not found a better marathon for the price. I have run this race for five straight years.
Very flat course that is mostly paved bike trails with very little spectators.
Always seems to be plenty of parking and after run drink and food. There is locker rooms available at the YMCA with showers.
