  New Race Organizers

Review

Game On Race Events (a professional team) took over the production of the Marathon of the Treasure Coast back in 2021. For the past two years, they have put on an amazing event! They produce over 20 events a year, including the MTC.

Race Tips

Expect a beautiful course and a great experience!

Logistical Tips (Hotels, Restaurants, Parking, Discounts, etc.)

Numerous hotels and free parking around race venue.

  Not flat

Review

Very pretty course.
Very disorganized and not clearly marked when running in the neighborhoods.

Race Tips

This is a great course to run the half. I would not try for this course for a BQ.
The bridges make the course tough and the course is not clearly marked.
Many runners ended up running one or two extra miles due to confusion.

Logistical Tips (Hotels, Restaurants, Parking, Discounts, etc.)

A lot of reasonable hotels to choose from in the area.

  Love my local marathon!

By about 2019

Review

I feel so blessed to live so close to such a great race. Compared to other races I've been to the parking is easy, just park and walk over, a short walk. The race course is beautiful through lovely neighborhoods ands over bridges with great views of the Saint Lucie River. They also do an amazing job with the medal and the shirt (primary reason I choose a race LOL.) Post race there's a good selection of refreshments if you are so inclined. I love and would recommend to anyone the Marathon of the Treasure Coast.

Race Tips

Course is mostly flat except for 2 bridges. If you are a slower runner (like me) you may end up running without many people around you for some stretches. The water stations are well spaced out but there might not be many other runners. From mile 13 until 20 I felt like I was out on my own for a long run, ha ha, except for seeing my family at the mile 18 water stop.

Logistical Tips (Hotels, Restaurants, Parking, Discounts, etc.)

Stay anywhere in Stuart or the surrounding area. I live in Port Saint Lucie and it’s a quick easy drive in the early morning. There is ample parking among the many side streets surrounding the start/finish of the race if the parking lots are full.

  The Beautiful Treasure Coast

By about 2019

Review

My 3rd year coming back! Love it! Beautiful, scenic, well organized event. Love the shirt and medal. Nice Expo/music event that weekend locally. Water stops have a good variety of snacks/nutrition. I ran a Marathon Relay for charity/ like the team feel/support. MCM Timing is very well run/organized, best around/quick/accurate. Will be back!

Race Tips

Train doing some bridge/hill running, since there are both on course. 1st/2nd legs for Marathon Relay aren't as hot/humid if you can not tolerate heat etc., I recommend you do those legs, it's earlier in a.m.

Logistical Tips (Hotels, Restaurants, Parking, Discounts, etc.)

All restaurants are good in the area/ so many!

  Truly a Treasure!

Love the race course, beautiful bridges, big beautiful homes along the way, complete with waving and cheering families! I Don't like the Florida heat, but, it is combated with frequent water and wash cloth stops, and the best volunteers ever...also, our medic team can't be beat

Race Tips

Expect amazing views, and a little Florida heat, with wonderful refreshments...our pace group leaders are top notch

Logistical Tips (Hotels, Restaurants, Parking, Discounts, etc.)

Plenty of downtown parking, and our bikers are plentiful along the entire route, to help in any emergency

Thank you for the best first (one and done) marathon! You can't control Florida weather in March. I suffered in the heat, yet after the course was closed, your bike marshals, James and Danielle made my finishing possible! (Note: I did stay hydrated and did not suffer any serious effects. Thank the race mgr for his sincere concern.)

  Awesome experience

Review

I had an excellent race experience. The route was awesome running through the residential area in the early morning. All the volunteers were amazing and encouraging at water stations. I was very impressed with the police force managing busy intersections. The photographer was engaging, setting up a photo shoot around the 5k mark advising us on speaker that a photo op was coming up. The finish area was well shaded and the food was outstanding. I will be referring this race to friends. The race shirt is beautiful, the material is soft and I like the fact that it was designed by a local artist. Also good job on the huge medal. Big thanks from this Canadian girl on an excellent race experience"

Race Tips

A few bridges to cross over. Beautiful scenery

Logistical Tips (Hotels, Restaurants, Parking, Discounts, etc.)

Be sure to check out the local beach.

  Marathon of the Treasure CoAST

By about 2019

Review

Police were excellent in their traffic control....never had a problem crossing streets. I made certain I thanked each officer, but hope you do the same. They were much appreciated. The water/Gatorade/Gu dispensers were also excellent, as were those who handed out cool towels. Great care was taken by you to avoid overheating. Thank you once again for an enjoyable, albeit hot and humid, race."

  Swag and course on point

By about 2019

Review

I absolutely loved the car magnet included in the swag bag! Oh and the coffee mug with the race decal was sweet. I bought it at the Expo and it's now my work coffee cup. The race t-shirts were a beautiful design, I just wish it was a short sleeve tech shirt so I can wear it year round, but it is my go-to shirt on chilly days. But that medal....was gorgeous! This was my first visit to Stuart (I live in Sebastian) and the course was beautiful and I loved all of the turns so it kept me going. I will definitely run this race again next year.

A Beautiful Well Organized Fun Event!

By about 2019

Review

This event was in a beautiful location. It offered many different distance options, was well organized and had great amenities on course and after the race - I loved the wet sponges to cool off in the humidity. The long sleeve tshirt and starfish medal were adorable. I wear my shirt all the time! It was my first time at this event and I ran the half marathon. I hope to do it again! and again!!!

Race Tips

The course is very flat. The only was the bridge. It runs through town, through banyan-tree lined neighborhoods, along the water, on the boardwalk (be careful, it can be slippery). The half and full start together then split off at the bridge. I think the split is around 5 miles in. There are some people cheering along the way and there were a few bands and musicians providing course motivation!

Logistical Tips (Hotels, Restaurants, Parking, Discounts, etc.)

Book early if you want to stay right in town. We stayed in a hotel in Port St. Lucie, about 10 miles away. There was no traffic on race morning and parking was plentiful. There are lots of great restaurants in downtown Stuart. It is an adorable city. We've vacationed there the last 3 years and plan to retire there.

  Most Gorgeous Course EVER!!

By about 2018

Review

I've run this marathon 3 times and done the half once. It never disappoints. The course is gorgeous, the aid stations are super fun and the volunteers are exceptional. The shirt is one of the best I ever received from a race and I wear it a lot. The medals are really clever in their design and are also a bottle opener!

Pre-race, there was Starbucks coffee before the race (hot and iced), which was delicious and available after too!! There are port-o-lettes in addition to the free standing bathroom.

Post race, there is plenty of good food, beer and great music and it's in a beautiful grassy park where you can just hang out with your friends. You may even get to ring the PR bell!! Parking is right there, so logistically, this is a no stress race. There are plenty of places to eat nearby after you get your bib at the Expo. Stuart is a cute little town and they take pride in showing it off. Plus, who would not want to be in Florida in March?!!?!!? The weather is AMAZING!!! This will be a regular on my marathon schedule. Fun, Sun, Run. The Trifecta of Perfection!!

Race Tips

There are pacers to help you reach your goals and mine was accurate to within 45 seconds of the goal!! Take advantage of them.

  It's a Treasure

By about 2018

Review

Beautiful course in Southeast Florida. Begins in quaint downtown area and passes through nice neighborhoods then over the St. Lucie River. The full marathon goes to the beach along the ocean. There are plenty of water stations and fuel stations staffed by many volunteers.

Race Tips

Pacers are available.

Logistical Tips (Hotels, Restaurants, Parking, Discounts, etc.)

Large parking lot at the start/finish. Plenty of nice hotels, restaurants in the area. Closest airport is West Palm Beach which is 40 minutes away.

  Poor organization

I ran this race two years ago it was poorly organized and many racers got lost along the way.

Review

Poor race organization. There was clearly an issue with course direction prior to the start when the announcer was confused by what the runners should follow and simply said "there will be plenty of volunteers to direct you". However, there was a mistake in the course where the top runners were misdirected. Interestingly, I was taken off course following pacers and cyclists who were officially involved with the race and not other racers. I also read in the newspaper today that the race director took absolutely no responsibility and blamed the RUNNERS for not knowing the course. I have been in an uncountable number of races and have never once had to memorize a route in order to successfully complete the race. That was poor taste for the race director to not simply apologize for the issue.

Race Tips

Better on course direction and new race director. Don't blame runners for the organizers ineptitude.

  Scenic Florida sunshine!

By about 2016

Review

The Treasure Coast Marathon is an excellent event with a scenic course and a very enthusiastic group of volunteer organizers. The event is "mature" so you can count on race day logistics. The Treasure Coast area of Florida is home to wonderful beaches and great hotels and is an easy drive from both Palm Beach and Orlando airports. The course is very flat but includes bridges over the local waterways which add a taste of Florida hills. The event features both a half and a full marathon and supports some great local charities.
