Real runner feedback on course feel, crowd support, aid stations, and logistics (parking, hotels, restaurants).
Nice, small home-town race. It's an out and back course on a rail-trail with the first few miles paved and the rest chat.
Good protection from wind most of the race due to trees lining the trail. Can get lonely with ~100 marathoners but not bad as there is a half marathon and 50k/50mile option as well.
Aid stations every 2 miles were nicely stocked and volunteers were well trained.
Temps generally favorable although 70's can feel warm after training in the cold all winter.
Try to negative split. It's not a net downhill. It's a pretty flat out and back.
Stay in Springfield, MO-about 6 miles away.
