Amazing atmosphere and support

Review
The support along the route is brilliant. Music, crowds cheering, supporters handing out jellies, biscuits, orange segments, bananas. Great comradery between runners. Great atmosphere in the city before and afterwards. Maybe not a route for a PB but really enjoyable because of the people.
Race Tips
There are pacers every 10 mins. Usually a big crowd with pacers at 3.30 and 4.00. There were 4 waves at the start, staggered by 20 mins. In 2023 W1 pacers 3.00 to 3.20, W2 pacers 3.30 to 3.50. W3 pacers 4.00 to 4.20. W4 pacers 4.30 to 5.00. I would describe the route as hilly. Plenty of water stations. Sports drinks and gels at 2 stations on the route.
It's a big event (over 16,000 runners) with associated logistics so I'd arrive at bag drop with plenty of time to spare. 45 mins before my start time was just enough for me. The bars, restaurants and hotels near the start/finish are very busy before and after.
