Memorable Kansas Marathon

Full Review:

This race is special to me as I received my BQ (Boston Qualifying) here. It is well organized and the Pacers are awesome - they know the course well and provide great support. There are just enough hills for those sweet downhills. They have cheer sections right where you need them!!

Race Tips:

Start out with a pace group just so you don't expend unnecessary energy at the start (you'll need it for later!!) Weather should be nice (cool) in Nov.

Travel/Logistics Tips:

Parking close to the start shouldn't be a problem. There are no restaurants within walking distance but a short drive away. Lots of fun activities/restaurants in Kansas City, MO after the race.

Great Gobbler

Full Review:

Enjoyed this race. The race was well organized. The people were very supportive on and off the run. The course was well marked. The elevation chart was spot on. Coming from Florida it was a bit chilly and hilly. Lucked out that race day was the ideal temperature. Day before it was 15 degrees and the day after it was 27 and snowing. Only recommendation would be to have pacers at the BQ times. There was no 4:05 or 4:10 pacer but there were 2 at the 4:00. Some pacers ran alone most of the race.

Race Tips:

Start slow so you have gas in the tank for the last 6 miles. The last 6 miles were a nice down hill slope so enjoy them. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time before race to use the port a potty as they are a little hike from the start line.

Travel/Logistics Tips:

Double tree is a short walking distance from the start/ finish. I would recommend you stay there.

Full Review:

Small crowds, reasonably flat and fast course.

Race Tips:

Run the course first so you know where the hills are located!
