Course Description
The Rogue Marathon features a scenic, point-to-point course that showcases the natural beauty of Southern Oregon’s Rogue Valley. Starting just outside the mountain town of Ashland, the course follows the historic Bear Creek Greenway and gently descends through the charming communities of Talent and Phoenix before finishing in the heart of Medford.

Runners are treated to a net downhill of approximately 400 feet, making the Rogue Marathon a great choice for those seeking a personal best or a Boston qualifying time. The early miles offer expansive views of the surrounding Siskiyou Mountains, while the later miles transition into a flatter, fast stretch along the greenway’s paved bike path.

The course is mostly shaded and protected, with mild fall temperatures typically ideal for marathon running. Though largely downhill, the route includes a few short, rolling hills and underpasses, especially in the final third. Aid stations are well-placed, and crowd support is small but enthusiastic, particularly near the finish.
