The Journeys Marathon course starts in Boulder Junction and travels southeast on County K to East Buckatabon Lake Road. The course then runs south to East Hunter Lake Road and onto Boot Lake Road, then East on County G. The last section is on Adams Road, Illinois Street and Michigan Street with the finish south of the bridge after crossing over the Eagle River into Riverview Park.
The mostly flat, point-to-point course can be fast if the temperature and humidity are lower than normal. However, the weather is very unpredictable. Race day has brought weather ranging from snow to highs in the upper 70's.
