Course Description
The Adirondack Marathon starts on Main St. Schroon and heads north. The course is one full loop around Schroon Lake on paved roadways (except for one half-mile stretch of gravel road in mile 3).

The first four miles are rolling or flat. Miles 4-12 feature short, but steep hills along a two-lane country road on the east side of the lake.

Miles 13-18 are flat, along the east shore. Then, there are long, gentle hills on Route 9, leading north to the finish in the town of Schroon.

Full Review:

Really nice small marathon. First half is hilly so I was hoping 2nd half would be a piece of cake... But it was long rolling hills all the way through the end. It was fantastic to have a huge crowd of students around mile 16!

Race Tips:

First five miles are pretty easy, but keep your energy for the rest of the first hilly half marathon. The second half may look easier but still, it's rolling hills all the way to the finish.
