Good news is a flat course. Lots of bad & sad news.

Full Review:

Walkers 3 & 4 across plus a ton of early starters clogging the course, not staying to the side. Add those with music in their ears and a real runner finds themselves weaving all over the place to get around. And then running down a sidewalk that has a lot of non-racers (public sidewalk = open course) walking, cycling, skating at toward you or in your way. Paying this much for a half marathon for an open course? BS!

Race Tips:

AVOID. Run Houston or better yet The Woodlands or Cowtown. This race sucks. Check results as you may find a course cutter or someone that just quits and finishes taking your place on the award stand.

Full Review:

This was a fun event, but I would recommend the half rather than the marathon. The course is very boring 2 loops and the second loop is very sparse of other people. It's a flat course with a few slight bridges.

Travel/Logistics Tips:

Easy to park. Get there at least an hour early.

Full Review:

Great course and logistics. Excellent communication.

Need more variety and more food vendors

Race Tips:

Preparation is key, especially the week prior. Hydration, carb loading and rest during your taper week. Vitamin cocktails help with strength and iron stores. Recover on recovery days, and include HIIT training that is nonlinear to get your body accustomed to different movements.

Travel/Logistics Tips:

Parking seemed stressful due to areas being blocked. Provide discount coupons for finishers on race day, example free personal pizza or a percentage off. This used to be offered. We want to feel celebrated because some of us have no one to cheer us on.

Full Review:

Well organized. Everything seemed to "flow" well from arriving in the a.m. with FREE parking to the start line to the race to the finish line and after party. For the $ you get not just a finisher tshirt, but a pullover or back back or sweatshirt and large medal. Definitely bang for your buck. Smaller race, but I tend to like that. No expo to deal with. No pkg to pay for at Expo or race day. No worries about where will I park. Don't get me wrong. Like the big races too, but if you haven't tried a small race like this try it and compare for yourself to see if you have a preference. Course has changed since I ran it last. No longer 100% flat, but still 98% flat. Sufficient water stations and potties. Race lacks crowd support unfortunately so if this is important to you it won't be found here. Would like to see them do more to bring out the local high school bands, cheer squads, dance clubs, etc..... It all helps! This is NOT a critique, but just my personal preference......would prefer the finisher jacket instead of a pullover. Regardless both are very nice and better than most other races! This was my 31st marathon so I have a few races to compare it too! ;)

Race Tips:

If you are looking for a race to BQ and have been struggling this may be a good option! About as flat as you can get (minus a few very very slight inclines, but short in length) and small crowds so not held back by other runners.

Full Review:

Well organized, fun race with excellent course support and volunteers! The marathon is designed to give everyone the opportunity to complete it. I have a full review on my blog: http://www.pathtotri.com/memorial-hermann-usa-fit-marathon/

Race Tips:

Fast course that goes up and down University Boulevard

Travel/Logistics Tips:

Parking is a breeze at the University of Houston campus.

Full Review:

Every year is a new adventure and was silly enough to do it 3 times. Course changes every year and this year, we ended up running through each other due to race not staying on course. Apparently, the race director did not ride out with the police to ensure he went the right way. Got to water station 1. I depend on this to ensure hydration stays constant. No one and no water out. WTH! To start a race off like this is unfathomable. After 3 different courses, water issues, walkers 3 across causing runners to go into the traffic lane and the pretty high price, never again. See my running friends after this race as it is not fun.
