The Loveland Marathon starts at the Estes Park Visitors Center, crosses Big Thompson Ave, right turn onto bike lane heading down HWY 34, left off Highway 34, and through gate into the Fountains of Loveland.
The extremely downhill course drops nearly 2600 feet from the starting elevation of 7600 feet.
Although the course is downhill, the high elevation may adversely affect most runners - especially those not well acclimated to the altitude. For those not affected by the high altitude, the course can be very fast and result in many BQs and PRs.
