The Army Marathon course is a net downhill, point-to-point course, but has quite a few rolling hills between Killeen and Temple. Moving the race from mid-April to early March should result in cooler weather and faster finishing times than the 2013 edition.
The highest point on the course comes at approximately 1.7 miles, near the intersection of S.W. Young and Zephyr Road. The lowest point on the course comes at approximately mile 16.7 on FM 439 between Sparta Road and the Belton Lake Dam.
