Real runner feedback on course feel, crowd support, aid stations, and logistics (parking, hotels, restaurants).
I've done this race all 3 years and loved it. I have only done the Tucson downhill and this marathon and I much preferred the uphill. It is slower but my body felt good at the end. The views are spectacular and each year the race director has improved the small details.
run walk works well for me. The first 1/2 is the hardest. mile 12-14 is the steapest. you get 2 nice downhill sections from mile 21 and 24. approximately 3 miles of down.
The buses are provided at Tucson Medical Center. There is plenty of parking. The bus ride off the mountain was relaxing and everyone was social and friendly. There is a Marriott next to TMC where you catch the bus.
