Nice inexpensive race on a BEAUTIFUL and well-maintained and non-technical course. The course is not well marked with signage, only ribbons. Pay attention. Water stops have no cups as this is a State Park w/ no litter policy. Bring a collapsible camping cup. Lastly, the timing needs work. In 2012 the winner quit/finished early as he did not continue the final lake loop. His finish time pace was his 5k pace and 2 minutes per mile faster than any half to date, but the RD did not catch it during the race and would not correct afterwards. Additionally, the finish line was manual and prone to error when runners passed each other during the final sprint. Suspect the RD will cancel the event as opposed to fixing it as the focus is Pilates and gym fitness, not running nor racing.
