Course Description

The Oak Island Marathon course travels through the southeast North Carolina island. The course is flat except for the two bridge crossings. Runners will first cross the G.V. Barbee Bridge starting at mile four. Runners will turn around and run back over the bridge just before fully descending the other side. The other bridge crossing is the Swain's Cut Bridge at approximately 21.5 miles with a return crossing about a mile later.
