The Green Bay Marathon is one of the flattest and fastest Spring marathons in the United States.
The course starts on Lombardi Ave. Runners will make their way south on Broadway and after crossing Main Ave. in De Pere, put in a few miles in East De Pere before hitting the Fox River Trail. A noted addition for the new course is a lap around City Stadium during mile 18 of the course. The stadium, adjacent to Green Bay East High School, was the home of the Green Bay Packers from 1925 to 1956.
The final stretch of the marathon includes a run across City Deck in downtown Green Bay before crossing the Nitschke Bridge and heading back to Lambeau Field for the finish lap on the field.
The Green Bay Marathon was the 70th largest marathon in the U.S. last year and was the 77th largest in 2015.
Last year 11.5% of finishers qualified for the Boston Marathon and 6.7% of runners qualified for Boston in 2015.
This gives the Green Bay Marathon the 162nd highest percentage of Boston Marathon qualifiers in the U.S. last year and the 316th highest percentage in 2015.
Its Course Score of 99.37 ranks it as the 114th fastest marathon course in the U.S. and the 4th fastest course in Wisconsin.
