Did not like much about this race. The start is OK if you like running behind Walmart. The portion on the Rail Trail was nice, but then it fell apart from there. It follows a busy road with cars going 55 MPH. Not scenic at all. Not nearly enough water on the course. Some stands had no cups. No awards ceremony after. Race director tried to entice people with "free" beer. Food consisted of warm yogurt and apples. Apples? Do NOT run this marathon.

Race Tips

CARRY YOUR OWN WATER if you want to live. Be alert for traffic. Saw several cars cross over the white lines. Bad road camber. It is fairly flat, but no cones or anything on the course. You are running with high speed traffic.

Logistical Tips (Hotels, Restaurants, Parking, Discounts, etc.)

I think there was a hotel discount for runners. I was close enough I could drive.

Flat but bad course. Much is along a major highway. Lots of traffic noise and exhaust fumes. Water was scarce. Supposed to be every two miles, but it wasn't. Ran over an hour before the first stocked aid station. A few volunteers on the course passing out GU. No crowd support. Bands consisted of a guy in the back of a pickup strumming a guitar. Won't run this one again.

Race Tips

Try not to get run over. No cones or anything. Just run on the shoulder of the road next to the guard rail.

Logistical Tips (Hotels, Restaurants, Parking, Discounts, etc.)

Not many portolavs. Get there early of find a discrete spot in the field.

Ugly course. Very little fan participation. Felt like I was on my own for much of the race. Wound up crossing to the other side of the highway to get water. Had to wait for traffic at several intersections. Car turned right in front of me going into a stripmall. Garbage bags all over the place. They cleaned up, but left the bags. Volunteers did their best. Not nearly enough. Needs its of improvement.
