The double out-and-back Coeur d'Alene Marathon marathon course is relatively flat, however runners encounter one significant hill at mile 4 and 17 on the way out and again at mile 7 and 20 on the way back to the turnaround and finish.
The course runs through downtown Coeur d'Alene before turning onto the Centennial Trail along the shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene. The turnaround point is at Higgens Point with the finish line at McEuen Park.
