The flat Walter Childs Memorial Race of Champions Marathon course is several loops on dirt roads around the reservoir.
The course is uphill as it leaves the reservoir, then gradual, rolling downhill along Mountain Rd., mostly flat along Rock Valley Rd., flat and dirt country road on Cook Rd., mostly flat and straight along residential Pomeroy St., gradual rolling hills on Hendrick St., flat and fast on East and Northhampton Streets (about 5 miles), then 2 miles gradually uphill with the final half mile sharply uphill.
