Review

Ten year age groups, rather than the normal five year ones, disappointing. What appears flat isn't!! VERY tough course, many short, steep uphills followed by short steep downhills. Very tight hairpin turns, this is a golf cart track, not an actual road, for more than half of the race. Awards were given as you came in, so no one stayed long after the race. Great finishers medal though!

Race Tips

Tangenting is a challenge, many narrow tight turns. No port a pots on the course, only two brick and mortar bathrooms the golfers use. No real support on the road portion (13 miles). Zero spectators, gets a little lonely out on the road. No Gu on the course, just water and Gator Ade. Watch out for golfers crossing through runners at the Club House just before the finish line! No timing mata t start line or splits on course.

Logistical Tips (Hotels, Restaurants, Parking, Discounts, etc.)

Parking is on site, very close. Small race, 51 participants. Packet pick up and race set up well done. Good snacks at the finish. Best selection of hotels and dining is in nearby Florence, AL.
