The Rim Rock Marathon starts at Colorado Gem and Minerals Club on Monument Road. Runners then head West up Monument Road and enter in to the Colorado National Monument.
The course continues up and over the Monument and descends down to the West Entrance. Runners take a left on to Hwy 340, run against traffic inside the cones, and head down to James M. Robb State Park taking a left in to the Park entrance and finishing at the Pavilion.
The Rim Rock Marathon was the 355th largest marathon in the U.S. last year and was the 392nd largest in 2014.
