Scenic pretty downhill course - until the halfway point. Provo was a marathon, a half, and a 5K plus a kids run. After the first half of the course, it winds around and flattens out with a bit of elevation gain. The second half is definitely harder than the first, running a negative split is tough.
Don't go out too fast. I went out with a pacer and I think I should have run with the next one down. Provo's big crowd is for the half, the marathon is fairly small, 250 or less. The half starts 10 min after the marathon, so don't be surprised if you get passed near the mid point, the people passing you are almost done.
Runners are bused up to the start, and you run down the canyon. My friend and I arrived a little later than we planned but there were still plenty of buses. As long as you're about 45 min early, you're good.
